Basic Warranty Information
Prior to contacting Dell, Apple, HP or Toshiba, it is recommended that you gather some information about your machine. The most basic info you'll need will be the computer's:
. model number
. serial number
. any applicable error messages
. operating system
The serial number can usually be found on the back, the bottom or, in the case of some laptops, in the battery bay of your machine. Also, in some rare instances with Apple (2002 and earlier), you may need to know the AppleCare agreement Sales Order Number. This information is contained with the documents delivered with your Macintosh. If you recieved your computer in 2002 or earlier, you may need to know the purchase date and/or purchase order number associated with your machine. If asked for this, contact Educational Technologies at 231-5879 specifying that you're looking for purchase order information about your machine. To correctly identify which PO your machine belongs to, we will need your name, department, machine serial number, and year received.

Apple:
The 2008 Apple MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac models come with a 1 Year Limited Warranty and first 90-day phone support. If you have problems with your Mac within the first 90 days of purchase, please call Apple's support line 1-800-692-7753. After 90 days, please call our University Bookstore Computer Repair Center at 231-9001 (ext. 462). Fujitsu Tablet:
The 2007 Fujitsu Lifebook Tablets come with a 3 Year Limited Warranty. Use the following phone number to contact Fujitsu: 800-838-5487.

The 2007 Apple iMac models come with a 1 Year Limited Warranty and 90 day phone support. All Mac Book Pro models come with 3 year Apple Care Warranty.
