  Workshop Description  
   
  This short course provides participants with a general overview of the Adobe Photoshop CS2 application. This session will include an exploration and discussion of Photoshop's workspace, toolbox, palettes, and the file browsing function. Scanning, cropping, rotating, and other image manipulation procedures will be shown. In addition, digital image transformation techniques, such as manipulating brightness and contrast, will be covered. Participants will be provided with sample images, and hands-on opportunities to explore the functionality of the aforementioned tools will be an integral attribute of this session. No prior experience with Photoshop is required.

Workshop Assumptions:
1. Participants have needs to work with digital images.
2. Participants have prior experience with desktop computers.
3. Participants have needs to use digital images generated from devices like a scanner.

Workshop Objectives:
1. Discuss key imaging topics, including scanning, cropping, rotating, and image adjustments.
2. Explore the Photoshop workspace, toolbar, palettes, and file browsing function.
3. Provide opportunities for participants to edit their images using Adobe Photoshop CS.

Instructional Outcomes:
1. Participants will have a basic understanding of the key issues with respect to image capture.
2. Participants will be able to scan, crop, and adjust images in Adobe Photoshop.
3. Participants will be able to develop an understanding of the Photoshop CS interface and its potentials for digital image processing.
4. Participants will be able to complete basic modifications of an image using Adobe Photoshop CS.
