University Libraries

With a Bachelor's of Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia (1999) and a Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh (2004), Luke Vilelle has written articles on the marketing of library resources and services, and the impact of Google Scholar and Wikipedia for librarians and researchers. His primary interest is in providing a smoother experience for all researchers, whether they be students working on term papers, faculty doing literature reviews, or anybody simply curious about a topic. How can the library better integrate its print and electronic resources with those provided by such outside parties as Google, Scirus and many more? How are the advances in web-based content and searching, many pioneered by today's major web search engines, going to affect the information distributors and seekers of tomorrow? Finally, how can libraries educate their users so they can understand where and how to obtain various types of information? He hopes to share his passion and enthusiasm for successfully navigating the research process and finding those hidden nuggets of value, while avoiding the pitfalls of information overload.

He is always interested in hearing golf course recommendations in this area!
