Learn basic Imaging techniques: scanning, image editing, creating images for multimedia presentations or the world wide web. Hands-on activities.

Suggested Prerequisite for FDI Tracks: C, D, E

Workshop Assumptions:
  • Participants will have viewed web pages with graphic elements.

Educational Objectives:
  • List and define computer graphic terminology.
  • Discuss commonly used graphic formats for web pages, including advantages and disadvantages of each.
  • Describe steps for using a flatbed scanner to digitize photos, manipulate and clean up resulting images and save as appropriate graphic files.
  • Provide hands-on opportunities for participants use a graphics package commonly used on campus to scan, manipulate and save images.
  • Discuss appropriate file-naming strategies for web and other uses.
