Learning Assumptions:

Participants will have used MS Office programs to create and print documents.

Educational Objectives:

List components of Acrobat suite of programs and common uses of each.
View and discuss common educational uses of PDF files on this campus, including Electronic Reserve and ETD Project.
Describe and view enhancements available in the PDF format that make these files more interactive than simple e-paper documents.
Provide hands-on opportunities for participants to convert Word and PowerPoint files to PDF format.
Review appropriate file-naming strategies for web and other uses.
Discuss linking of PDF documents to web pages.

Instructional Outcomes:

Participants will be able to name components of Acrobat suite and discuss appropriate uses of each.
Participants will be aware of some of the enhancement capabilities of Acrobat documents.
Participants will be able to convert electronic documents to PDF format.
Participants will be able to create navigation in a PDF.
Participants will be able to Change their PDF documents.
Participants will be able to Edit their PDF documents.
Participants will be able to add interactivity to their PDF documents.
