- Workshop Assumptions:
- Participants will have MS PowerPoint to create presentations.
- Participants will be familiar with web pages with
audio or multimedia elements.
Educational Objectives:
- List educational uses of audio-enhances PPT files
on the web.
- List and discuss advantages and disadvantages of
using in-office recording and NMC audio bay/professional
recording options.
- Demonstrate audio recording programs.
- Insert audio clips into PowerPoint.
- Convert PPT files to QuickTime movies for use on
the web.
- Discuss compression technology as it applies to
PPT movies for use on the web.
- Dicsuss streaming technology for online movies.
(Participants are recommened to take the Streaming
Media FDI workshop as well.)
Instructional Outcomes:

Participants will be able to insert
audio narration into PowerPoint presentations using
either the built-in narration recording feature or
inserting stand-alone, external audio files.
- Participants will be able to convert PowerPoint presentations
to QuickTime movies for use on the web.
- Participants will understand the option associated with
PowerPoint movies to get the smallest file size when converting.
