Workshop Theme: Getting Started - Basic Skills and Campus Resources

Faculty Development workshops within this theme provide hands-on activities related to using computer programs for Word Processing, Presentations, Spreadsheets, E-mail and other computer programs for instructional purposes. Additional topics include Document Management, Networking and the Internet. The four main topic areas are; Desktop Computing, Networking, Internet Basics and Campus Resources.

Workshops in the Basic Skills and Campus Resources theme are organized by topic area and participant skill level or proficiency with tasks necessary to perform the workshop's activities. The table below indicates a range of skills that are presented in the FDI Summer Tracks A and B. These topics and skills are the basis for most FDI workshops.

  • Creating Internet Bookmarks

Campus Resources
  • Use Library Services electronically on or off-campus
  • Locate appropriate computing services on-campus
  • Self-paced tutorials for various Computer programs
