  Workshop Description
This one-hour session is a required workshop, intended for those faculty participating in Track G. In this session, faculty will be given access to the online modules, which focus on the creation of learner-centered instruction and comprise the common thread for Track G. Session participants will be provided with information regarding the requirements for the completion of the track, as well as engage in a discussion regarding their current pedagogical/instructional practices and goals.

Workshop Assumptions:
1.) Participants have created and implemented instructional activities in the past.
2.) Participants have an interest in designing instructional events that will enhance student learning.
3.) Participants are willing to reflect upon and share their own instructional and learning experiences.
4.) Participants should have a basic understanding of computer operations and terms, including networked computer applications.
5.) Participants should be familiar with the general principles of copyright law.
6.) Participants will have a working knowledge of basic word processing.

Workshop Objectives:
1.) Identify the key elements of designing student-centered instruction.
2.) Illustrate basic instructional design models and the principles supporting the models.
3.) Provide an environment in which colleagues may share their classroom experiences and benefit from peer discussion.
4.) Offer strategies for developing student-centered courses.

Instructional Outcomes:
1.) Participants will distinguish differences between instructor-centered and student-centered paradigms of instruction.
2.) Participants will recognize instructional strategies that historically lead to student success.
3.) Participants will reflect upon their own classroom practices to determine successful approaches to learning and instruction.
4.) Participants will be given access to online learning modules, which will enable their further exploration of the instructional design process.
5.) Participants will be aware of resources on campus that provide instructional and technological support.
